Rafael Macedo won the Lima Grand Prix men’s -90kg title against Moldova’s Mihail Latisev. Latisev had disrupted the expected all-Brazilian final by beating second seed Guilherme Schimidt in the semifinal.

Macedo broke through with a yuko before scoring waza-ari with seoi-otoshi and moving directly into a pin. The result defended his Lima title and added Brazil’s fourth gold of the 2026 tournament at that stage.

Schimidt recovered to beat Canada’s Keagan Young for bronze in extra time. Italy’s Kenny Komi Bedel won the remaining bronze against Belarus’s Yahor Varapayeu after their tied regulation contest also continued into golden score.
