Source publication date:
Australia qualified for the Under-19 World Cup Super Six by defeating Japan by eight wickets. Will Malajczuk reached his century in 51 balls, the fastest hundred in the tournament’s history, and finished with 102 from 55 deliveries.
He shared a 135-run opening partnership in fifteen overs with Nitesh Samuel, who remained unbeaten on 60. Japan had earlier set a target of 202, with Hugo Tani-Kelly anchoring its innings through an unbeaten 79.
The other scheduled match, between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Bulawayo, was abandoned after rain allowed only ten overs. That left New Zealand with a second consecutive abandoned game and both teams sharing points as the group programme continued.
