Malaysia and Japan complete Ismailia men's semi-final lineup

Malaysia and Japan reached the men's World Cup qualifier semi-finals in Ismailia with victories in the final pool round. Malaysia defeated China 5–4 and Japan beat Egypt 6–3, joining England and Pakistan in the last four.
Fitri Saari scored twice for Malaysia, which established a three goal advantage before China reduced the margin late. The Malaysians held on through the closing minutes, with Aiman Rozemi named player of the match after important work in creating and finishing attacks.
Pakistan maintained its winning run by defeating Austria 4–2. Abu Mahmood scored twice as Pakistan took control in the final stages. The completed standings paired England with Malaysia and Pakistan with Japan, with each semi-final winner set to earn a World Cup place.
