Manchester United win derby in Carrick’s return
Mbeumo and Dorgu scored second-half goals in a 2–0 victory over City.

Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2–0 at Old Trafford in Michael Carrick’s first match after returning as head coach. Both goals came in the second half.
Bruno Fernandes led a counter-attack before setting up Bryan Mbeumo for the sixty-fifth-minute opener. Substitute Matheus Cunha subsequently crossed for Patrick Dorgu to add the second.
United also had three goals ruled out for offside and hit the woodwork twice. Carrick restored a back four and brought Kobbie Mainoo into the league starting line-up. City’s defeat followed January league draws with Sunderland, Chelsea and Brighton.
