Matheus Cunha scored in the eighty-seventh minute as Manchester United beat Arsenal 3–2 at Emirates Stadium. The victory was United’s second in two games under Michael Carrick.
Lisandro Martínez’s own goal put Arsenal ahead before Bryan Mbeumo intercepted Martin Zubimendi’s pass and equalised. Patrick Dorgu then gave United the lead early in the second half with a shot that went in off the crossbar.
Mikel Merino restored parity, but Cunha curled in the decisive goal less than three minutes later. United moved to fourth at that stage of the season, while league leaders Arsenal’s advantage was reduced to four points.
