Markram guides South Africa past West Indies by nine wickets

South Africa defeated West Indies by nine wickets in Ahmedabad to record its sixth victory of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. Aiden Markram scored an unbeaten 82 from 46 balls as the side chased 177 in 16.1 overs.
Markram and Quinton de Kock put on 95 for the first wicket in eight overs. De Kock made 47, and Ryan Rickelton finished unbeaten on 45. The result gave South Africa two wins from two Super Eight matches and the leading Group 1 position.
West Indies had recovered from 83/7 to 176/8 through Jason Holder’s 49 and Romario Shepherd’s unbeaten 52. Lungi Ngidi took three wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Corbin Bosch claimed two each before the late batting recovery.
