Meillard takes Schladming giant slalom under the lights
Elezi Cannaferina joined him and Braathen on a breakthrough podium.

Loic Meillard won the men’s giant slalom in Schladming in 2:14.38. Racing on an icy course before fifteen thousand spectators, he overturned Lucas Pinheiro Braathen’s first-run lead and finished 0.73 seconds ahead of the Brazilian.
Alban Elezi Cannaferina took third from bib twenty-five. The Frenchman achieved both his first World Cup podium and his first top-ten finish, giving the nighttime race a significant breakthrough beyond the established contenders.
Meillard’s victory was his second giant slalom win of the season and sixth World Cup success overall. He moved to third in the discipline standings with 326 points, behind Braathen on 347, while Marco Odermatt retained the lead with 450.
