Jakub Mensik defeated Sebastian Baez 6–3, 7–6(7) to win the ASB Classic in Auckland. The twenty-year-old Czech claimed his second ATP Tour title and became the tournament’s youngest champion since Juan Martín del Potro in 2009 after an eighty-two-minute final.

Mensik struck eleven aces in the opening set and won twenty-one of twenty-two points behind his first serve. Baez recovered after Mensik broke for 6–5 in the second, then earned three consecutive set points at 6–3 in the tiebreak.

Mensik saved those chances with a drop volley, an ace and a return winner before completing the victory. The result ended Baez’s seven-match winning start to 2026 and guaranteed Mensik a rise to seventeenth in the rankings before travelling to the Australian Open.
