Mercedes announced a two-part launch programme for its new Formula 1 season. The team scheduled the first digital images of the W17 for 22 January, ahead of the private pre-season running at the Barcelona circuit.

A separate online season launch was set for 2 February. Toto Wolff, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli were due to appear, alongside senior personnel explaining the technical changes that shape the new generation of cars.

The schedule placed the launch between Barcelona’s initial shakedown and the two Bahrain testing sessions. Mercedes entered the new regulation cycle after finishing second in the 2025 constructors’ championship, seeking a return to title contention when the season opened in Australia in March.
