Mongolia retained first place in the Gender Equality in Chess Index published by FIDE’s Women in Chess Commission and the University of Queensland. The country scored 89.26, ahead of Sri Lanka on 86.99 and Uganda on 84.62.

The second edition ranks 119 federations using the geometric mean of three indicators: women’s participation, relative rating performance and representation in youth championships. Seventeen federations received rankings for the first time, while average scores increased in every region compared with 2023.

The United Arab Emirates rose seventy-three places to fourth, and the Maldives climbed fifty places to thirteenth. Africa recorded the highest regional average at 67.6, followed by Asia, the Americas and Europe.
