Morocco and Senegal became Africa Cup of Nations semi-finalists after winning their quarter-finals on Friday. The hosts defeated Cameroon 2-0 in Rabat, while Senegal overcame Mali 1-0 in Tangier in the two matches covered by CAF’s report.
Brahim Díaz opened Morocco’s scoring after a corner and Ismail Saibari added the second during the later stages. Morocco’s defence kept Cameroon from responding, securing the hosts’ first AFCON victory over that opponent after three previous meetings in the competition.
Iliman Ndiaye scored Senegal’s winner in the 27th minute after a goalkeeping error. Mali then lost captain Yves Bissouma to a second yellow card before half-time, but remained competitive as Senegal managed the remainder of the contest to protect their narrow lead.
