Liverpool U21s beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 to record a fourth consecutive Premier League 2 victory. Captain Kieran Morrison converted a sixth-minute penalty after Josh Davidson was tripped inside the area.

Noah Adekoya made his Liverpool debut, and Brighton were reduced to ten players before the half-hour when Yussif Owusu received a straight red card for fouling Keyrol Figueroa. Liverpool nevertheless failed to add a second goal.

Brighton threatened after the interval, with Nehemiah Oriola heading against a post and Sean Keogh’s stoppage-time cross striking the bar. Rob Page’s side held on at the Amex Elite Football Performance Centre to maintain a perfect league record during January.
