New Zealand scored 138 points across three pool victories to reach the women’s semi-finals at HSBC SVNS Singapore. The Black Ferns Sevens beat Great Britain 64–0, Canada 19–12 and France 55–7, setting up a meeting with the United States.

Australia also completed an unbeaten pool programme and will face Canada in the other semi-final. The United States advanced after recovering from a 19–0 half-time deficit to beat Japan 22–19, then defeating Fiji before losing to Australia.

Canada opened with a 29–24 extra-time win against France, secured by captain Carissa Norsten, and later beat Great Britain 52–0. Breanne Nicholas equalled Bianca Farella’s national record of forty-five sevens appearances during the opening game, adding an individual milestone to the team’s qualification.
