New Zealand wins first ODI series in India
Mitchell and Phillips centuries overcame Kohli’s hundred in the Indore decider.

New Zealand defeated India by 41 runs in Indore to secure its first one-day international series victory in the country. The visitors won the three-match contest two-one after setting a target of 338 in the deciding fixture.
Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips both scored centuries and shared a 219-run partnership, recovering from the early loss of the openers. Their stand helped New Zealand reach 337 for eight, with captain Michael Bracewell adding a late contribution.
Virat Kohli made his 54th ODI century during India’s reply and received support from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana. New Zealand nevertheless dismissed the hosts for 296 in 46 overs, completing another landmark touring achievement after its earlier Test series success.
