Nigeria advanced to the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals with a 4-0 victory over Mozambique. Victor Osimhen scored twice, while Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams also found the net in a decisive last-sixteen performance.
Lookman opened the scoring after twenty minutes and Osimhen doubled the advantage five minutes later. Early in the second half, Lookman turned provider for Osimhen’s second, putting Nigeria three goals ahead shortly after the restart.
Adams completed the scoring in the seventieth minute after already contributing two assists. Nigeria’s defence limited Mozambique’s opportunities as the Super Eagles registered their fourth successive win of the tournament and prepared to face either Algeria or DR Congo in the next round.
