Nika Prevc completes a close Villach double
Only six tenths of a point separated her from home contender Eder.
Source publication date:
Nika Prevc won a second consecutive World Cup contest in Villach, edging Lisa Eder by 0.6 points. The Slovenian scored 248.7 across jumps of 92.0 and 89.5 metres to secure her seventh victory of the season.
Eder reduced a 1.9-point first-round deficit with the stronger second jump but could not quite overturn the lead. Agnes Reisch held third throughout the competition and earned her first podium of the winter, ahead of teammate Selina Freitag.
Reisch’s result also marked a positive return to a hill where previous falls had caused injuries. Prevc left Villach one hundred points ahead of Nozomi Maruyama in the overall standings, with home competitions in Ljubno next on the calendar.
