Nika Prevc overturns a deficit to complete Ljubno double
A 92-metre final jump denied Eder a first World Cup win.
Source publication date:
Nika Prevc won the second women’s World Cup contest in Ljubno with 271.1 points, only one point ahead of Lisa Eder. The Slovenian trailed by 3.1 after an 85-metre opening effort but recovered with the day’s longest jump, measured at 92 metres.
Katharina Schmid completed the podium with 252.9 points after rising from fourth with a strong final effort. Changeable winds caused frequent breaks and gate adjustments, making the contest challenging for officials and athletes alike.
Prevc achieved her thirty-first career victory, fourth consecutive win this season and fifth successive success on her home hill. The result moved her beyond Maren Lundby on the women’s all-time wins list and extended her overall World Cup advantage to three hundred points.
