Nika Prevc wins a wind-shortened Zhangjiakou contest
The final round was cancelled after a prolonged opening session.
Source publication date:
Nika Prevc won her sixth consecutive World Cup contest in Zhangjiakou, where extreme wind reduced the competition to one round. Her 134.5-metre jump earned 113.6 points and made her the only athlete to score above one hundred.
Anna Odine Stroem finished second with 97.5 points from a 127-metre jump. Nozomi Maruyama placed third with 94.7, while Agnes Reisch was the highest-ranked German in fifth and China’s Zeng Ping finished eighth.
Qualification was cancelled and the opening round began more than ninety minutes late. Repeated interruptions extended that round beyond an hour before officials abandoned the final. Prevc’s victory increased her overall World Cup advantage to more than 350 points despite the difficult schedule.
