Nilüfer and Buzau overturned first-leg deficits to join the men’s European Cup quarter-finals. Six other clubs defended their initial advantages as the last-sixteen return legs completed the next stage’s line-up across the weekend’s matches.
Nilüfer had lost 29–26 at Brno but produced a crucial five-goal run in the home return. The Turkish side held its advantage through the closing stages and progressed by the narrowest aggregate margin, finishing the two legs ahead 58–57.
Karviná also advanced after winning 28–27 away at Balatonfüred. The Hungarian hosts temporarily overturned their initial deficit, but Karviná recovered and controlled the closing quarter-hour. Their second victory created a 58–55 aggregate result and secured another Czech presence in the competition.
