Noel wins Madonna di Campiglio night slalom
Hallberg missed a first victory by twelve hundredths as Rassat joined the podium.
Source publication date:
Clement Noel won the night slalom in Madonna di Campiglio, earning his fifteenth World Cup slalom victory. The Olympic champion’s strong second run proved enough to beat first-run leader Eduard Hallberg by 0.12 seconds.
Hallberg achieved his best career result in second despite a late mistake. Paco Rassat recorded the fastest second run and climbed thirteen positions to third, placing two French skiers on the podium. Lucas Pinheiro Braathen missed the top three by just three hundredths.
Noel moved within three points of slalom standings leader Timon Haugan. Rassat rose to third in the discipline rankings after his second career podium. The tight competition left the top seven finishers within half a second of the winning time.
