Ohashi and Murakami win junior snowboard halfpipe golds
Japan took both Calgary titles, with Murakami scoring the day’s highest mark.

Sorana Ohashi and Konosuke Murakami won the women’s and men’s snowboard halfpipe titles at the Park and Pipe Junior World Championships in Calgary. Both Japanese sixteen-year-olds had led qualification before improving their scores during the finals to secure the championships.
Ohashi won with 86.50 points on her second run, having already established a leading score of 84.50. Switzerland’s Lura Wick finished second with 74.25, while Japan’s Aiko Okada completed the women’s podium on 71 points at WinSport Canada Olympic Park.
Murakami responded after teammate Haku Shimasaki briefly took the lead, producing a second run worth 96.50. Shimasaki earned silver with 94.50 and Switzerland’s Mischa Zuercher bronze on 84.25. Japan had now won four of the six junior snowboard titles contested.
