The IOC announced Tokyo, Shanghai, Montreal and Orlando as hosts of the expanded Olympic Q-Series on 7 May 2026. Each city is due to stage one stop between May and June 2028, forming part of the qualification pathway to LA28.

The announced sports are 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, BMX freestyle, climbing, flag football and skateboarding. The IOC said the sport programme for each individual stop would be confirmed later, so it would be premature to assign every sport to every host.

The series develops the previous Olympic Qualification Series concept into a larger multi-city programme. This is a 2026 hosting decision about future qualification opportunities, rather than a completed qualifying result or an announcement that any particular athlete has secured a place.
