Osakue wins discus at Continental Tour opener in Melbourne
The Italian record holder finishes strongly as Cameron Myers leads the international track results.

Daisy Osakue won the women’s discus at the Maurie Plant Meet in Melbourne with 57.94m. In her third competition of the season, she opened with 57.58m, fouled four times and produced her winning mark on the final attempt.
Nigeria’s Pamela Amaechi finished second with 57.40m. The meeting opened the Continental Tour Gold season and also brought a world-leading 1,500m performance of 3:30.42 from Australia’s Cameron Myers, who ran clear of the field.
Claudia Hollingsworth won the women’s 1,500m in 4:01.30 ahead of world indoor champion Georgia Hunter Bell’s 4:01.52. Olympic pole vault champion Nina Kennedy returned from an injury that had kept her out throughout 2025, clearing 4.72m before stopping in cool, wet conditions.
