Pagliarini improves sprint best as Casoni sets youth record
Italian indoor meetings produced a 7.28 heat and a 2:21.43 under-20 1000m record.

Alice Pagliarini improved her 60-metre personal best to 7.28 in the heats at Ancona, cutting four hundredths from her previous mark. She subsequently won the final in 7.34, ahead of Ilenia Angelini in 7.43.
Lorenzo Simonelli won the men’s flat 60 metres in 6.66 after a 6.68 heat. Eric Marek recorded the meeting’s fastest men’s time, 6.65, in the first round before withdrawing from the final.
In Padova, Alessandro Casoni set an Italian under-20 indoor 1000-metre record of 2:21.43. The eighteen-year-old improved Gabriele Angiono’s previous 2:23.21, established three years earlier on the same track.
