Source publication date:
Elisa Palmero finished fourth in the Seville half marathon in 1:09:35. It was her second-fastest career performance over 21.097 kilometres, behind the 1:09:02 she ran in Reggio Emilia the previous year.
She maintained kilometre splits around 3:17–3:18, passing five kilometres in 16:29, ten in 33:00 and fifteen in 49:37. The race followed three weeks of altitude training in Iten, Kenya.
Zeineba Yimer won in 1:06:33, followed by Winnie Jepkosgei Kimutai and Aminet Ahmed. Palmero was preparing for a planned marathon debut in Seville on 15 February; the January half-marathon result did not establish that later outcome.
