Palmerston North chosen for 2027 New Zealand Open

Palmerston North was selected to host the 2027 New Zealand Squash Open at the Regent on Broadway theatre. Organisers planned a glass court on the venue’s stage, with 15–21 February listed as provisional dates pending final confirmation later in the year.
The city will also host the New Zealand Junior Squash Open alongside the professional tournament. The move follows previous editions in Tauranga and Christchurch, extending the national event’s geographical rotation into the lower North Island.
The tournament will form part of the Road to LA initiative supporting New Zealand athletes’ Olympic ambitions. Its programme connects international competition, junior events and community activities across Christchurch, Palmerston North and Auckland during the approach to 2028.
