Pro League clubs take football into Honiara schools
OFC’s Just Play outreach linked players with students during Round Four.
Source publication date:
OFC Pro League clubs visited schools in Honiara during the competition’s fourth round, joining children for games, football exercises and question sessions. The activities were organised with the Solomon Islands Football Federation and Just Play Solomon Islands, supported through Australia’s Team Up programme.
Eight students from participating schools carried match balls to referees at the National Stadium. OFC also supplied schools with free tickets, connecting classroom visits with the experience of attending professional matches in the capital.
Clubs included school visits in their stay, with PNG Hekari trainer Jerry Sam returning to White River Primary School. South Melbourne met students at Woodford International School and Bula visited Coronation School. Further outreach was planned for the next round in Fiji.
