PSA fines Dessouky for Karachi conduct breaches
Half of a £4,000 sanction was suspended for a 52-week period.
Source publication date:
PSA imposed a £4,000 fine on Fares Dessouky following breaches of its Code of Conduct during the Karachi Open. The case concerned his second-round match against Noor Zaman and was announced in a federation disciplinary notice published on 20 February.
The stated breaches covered dissent, audible obscenity, abuse of racket, equipment or court, and verbal abuse. PSA identified the relevant provisions in its code when setting out the conduct that formed the basis of the sanction against the Egyptian player.
Half of the fine was suspended, with that portion applicable if similar breaches occurred during the next 52 weeks. Dessouky accepted the decision and did not exercise his right to appeal within the appeals period.
