The Queens’ Online Chess Festival announced its sixth edition, running from 1 to 29 March. Participation is free, with the FIDE women’s commission offering a women’s open competition and a separate Princesses tournament for girls who do not hold a rating.
The women’s event begins with four continental blitz qualifiers. Twenty-five players from each region advance to a one-hundred-player semifinal, followed by an eight-player round-robin final. The continental stages take place on 1, 7, 8 and 15 March.
The Princesses competition includes under-nine through under-seventeen categories, with qualifying groups on 16 March and finals on 29 March. Supervision and post-event fair-play screening apply to the decisive stages. The women’s winner receives an invitation to attend the Samarkand Olympiad with three nights’ accommodation.
