Mbappé’s double and a productive Vinícius performance delivered a fifth Champions League win.

Real Madrid defeated Monaco 6-1 at the Bernabéu on Champions League league-phase matchday seven. Kylian Mbappé scored twice before half-time as the home team strengthened their position inside the top eight with one fixture remaining.
Franco Mastantuono scored early in the second half, followed by a Thilo Kehrer own goal and Vinícius Júnior’s finish. Vinícius also provided two assists and was named player of the match after helping drive Madrid’s attacking performance.
The result was Madrid’s fifth victory of the European campaign and their second win at the Bernabéu in three days. The club’s report described a convincing performance that rewarded the home crowd with six goals.
