Danilo Riethmueller won the men’s IBU Cup pursuit in Lake Placid in 33:02.1 after one prone miss. Starting second, the German took the lead after the second shooting and retained it as wind and fresh snow complicated shooting and slowed the course for his rivals.

Ole Suhrke finished second, 1:03.5 behind with five misses, while Sverre Dahlen Aspenes took third despite eight penalties. Gaetan Paturel finished sixth, retained an eighteen-point overall lead and secured the pursuit discipline title with further competition still remaining on the season programme.

Gro Randby won the women’s pursuit in 29:07, completing a double despite four misses. Sara Andersson and Johanna Skottheim took the other medals, while Paula Botet won the pursuit season trophy.
