Roskilde Bordtennis and Cajasur Priego won the home opening legs of their men’s Europe Cup quarterfinals. Roskilde swept Pontoise Cergy 3–0, while Priego defeated HB Ostrov 3–1, giving both clubs advantages to defend in the second encounters.

Jens Lundqvist beat Rafael Cabrera in straight games to begin Roskilde’s victory. Tobias Rasmussen edged Alexandre Cassin in five games, taking the deciding game 6–5, before Anders Eriksson defeated Thomas Laroche in four games to complete the sweep.

Robert Gardos supplied two points for Priego against Tomas Tregler and Vladislav Ursu. Ursu had levelled the tie by defeating Diogo Carvalho, but Carlos Machado beat Pavel Sirucek before Gardos closed the contest in five games.
