The coastal event brought 183 athletes into the selection circuit.
Source publication date:
Salinas hosted an Ecuadorian national SAMBO tournament on 14 February, bringing together 183 athletes. Sport and Combat SAMBO contests were held at the Polideportivo Benjamín Carrión, alongside beach competition.
The event formed one of three national qualifying meetings for the Pan-American championships in Costa Rica. It therefore combined domestic competition with a selection pathway for later international participation.
FIAS described the occasion as the first national Beach SAMBO tournament held outside Guayaquil and on an open public beach. The report confirms the event’s location, participation and selection role but does not provide a complete named medal list. No category winners or international team places are inferred beyond those published details.
