Japan Rugby Football Union announced the 27th Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament on 1 April 2026. The programme at Global Arena in Munakata, Fukuoka, was scheduled between 28 April and 5 May.
The boys’ competition brought together 16 high-school XVs teams, with matches spread over five days. Eight overseas teams represented Australia, Chinese Taipei, England, Fiji, Namibia, New Zealand and Tonga; New Zealand supplied two entrants.
Eight girls’ teams were scheduled for the sevens tournament on 28 and 29 April. International participants included Australia’s Glennie School, England’s Worthing College, Canada’s Queen Margaret’s School and New Zealand’s MANUKURA.
The announcement concerned the confirmed tournament programme and participating schools. It did not establish winners. The event was organised with the Sanix Sports Foundation, Global Arena and the regional Japanese rugby unions, linking international youth competition with the host country’s school game.
