Source publication date:
FIH outlined the men’s Hockey World Cup qualifier in Santiago, scheduled from 1 to 8 March at the national stadium’s hockey centre. Eight teams will compete for three automatic places in the summer tournament, awarded to the finalists and bronze-medal winner.
France, Scotland, Wales and hosts Chile form pool A. Ireland, Canada, Korea and Poland are in pool B. The top two teams from each pool reach the semi-finals on 6 March, with the medal matches scheduled for 8 March.
The highest-ranked fourth-place finisher across Santiago and Ismailia will gain another World Cup berth. Chile will seek a second successive appearance after its debut at the previous edition, while the European and other international challengers pursue the remaining places alongside nine countries that had already qualified.
