The German Badminton Association reported on 22 May 2026 that the Badminton World Federation had introduced Shuttle Time Senior. Developed with Coventry University, the programme was designed for adults aged 60 and over, including participants without previous badminton experience.

An eight-session format used adapted badminton activities to encourage movement, coordination, balance and social participation. Clubs, national federations, community organisations and facilities serving older people were among its intended delivery settings.

The federation described physical and mental wellbeing as programme aims. These are programme objectives; the federation’s account does not quantify clinical outcomes from a new trial.

Implementation guidance and promotional resources were made available through the Shuttle Time platform. The national federation also described an accreditation pathway for organisations, connecting participation opportunities with programme quality and inclusion.
