Singh and Asal win January player awards
Fan polls recognised the Indian teenager’s breakthrough and Asal’s continued major-event dominance.

Anahat Singh and Mostafa Asal were named the PSA World Events players of the month for January. The awards were announced after fan voting, recognising Singh’s breakthrough World Event title and Asal’s commanding run at the Tournament of Champions.
Singh received fifty-two percent of the women’s vote, finishing ahead of Hania El Hammamy, Olivia Weaver and Fayrouz Aboelkheir. Her recent results included victories over Sana Ibrahim, Sabrina Sobhy and Georgina Kennedy at the Squash on Fire Open.
Asal received thirty-six percent of the men’s vote. He had won the New York title without dropping a game, extending a fifteen-match sequence of straight-games victories and defeating Paul Coll in the final to complete another major success.
