Singh and James reach first Bronze-level finals
Both advanced at Squash on Fire before finals scheduled for the following day.
Source publication date:
Anahat Singh and Declan James reached their first PSA Bronze-level finals at the Squash on Fire Open. Singh defeated Sabrina Sobhy 3–1 in thirty-two minutes, while James recovered from losing the opening game to beat Karim El Hammamy 3–1 in ninety minutes.
Seventeen-year-old Singh had produced a major comeback in the quarterfinals a day earlier. She established a two-game semifinal lead, resisted Sobhy’s recovery and regained control in the fourth to secure the biggest final appearance of her career so far.
James used patient, consistent hitting to wear down his Egyptian opponent. The results set finals against top seeds Georgina Kennedy and Mohamed ElShorbagy respectively. Those championship matches were scheduled for 1 February, so this January report records the semifinal results and confirmed finalists.
