Fanny Smith won the women’s ski cross World Cup in Craigleith, passing Hannah Schmidt on an inside line and finishing a quarter-second ahead. Jole Galli took third and Saskja Lack fourth, as Smith claimed her fourth victory from five races at the Canadian venue.

The result extended Smith’s run of seasons containing a World Cup win to eleven, matching Ophélie David’s record. Smith had finished second in both her quarterfinal and semifinal before producing the decisive move against the home favourite in the final race.

Youri Duplessis-Kergomard rose from fourth early in the men’s final to beat Jared Schmidt by five-hundredths of a second. David Mobaerg secured third ahead of Oliver Davies in another photo finish at the end of the race.
