Sofia swimming officials clinic sets mandatory 2026 training
Certified officials must attend in person or online to seek European championship appointments.
Source publication date:
European Aquatics confirmed its swimming officials clinic in Sofia from 28 February to 1 March. All certified officials seeking appointments at European events during 2026 must attend either in person or online, with non-participation potentially affecting eligibility for championship selection.
The course introduces the new World Aquatics competition regulations and their application, alongside the responsibilities of referees, starters and control room supervisors. Professional conduct, pool-deck behaviour and the federation’s 2026 officiating protocols also form part of the programme.
Sessions will address ice swimming, Masters, Para and Special Olympics competition to broaden experience across formats. Registration is handled through the academy platform, with an expert panel available for questions and practical discussion at the Hotel Mercure Sofia City venue.
