Youssef Soliman withdrew from the New Zealand Open after failing to recover from an injury sustained during the Texas Open. The Egyptian world No. 12 had retired from his second-round match against Dimitri Steinmann as their contest reached the fifth game.

The withdrawal changed the seeding for the tournament scheduled for 3–8 March. England’s Jonah Bryant moved into the top four, while Switzerland’s Nicolas Mueller became a top-eight seed and received a first-round bye in the updated field.

Colombia’s Matias Knudsen accepted the final place in the draw and was paired with wild card Oliver Dunbar in the opening round. Paul Coll and Joel Makin remained the leading two seeded players.
