South Africa and Canada win inaugural SVNS 3 titles
Both champions and their final opponents earn promotion to the next tier.

South Africa’s women and Canada’s men won the inaugural HSBC SVNS 3 titles in Dubai. Their final opponents, Argentina and Belgium respectively, also earned promotion to the three-tournament SVNS 2 series, beginning in Nairobi the following month.
South Africa came from behind to beat Argentina 12–5 in the women’s final. Zintle Mpupha levelled after the interval, and Patience Mokone scored the decisive late try. The champions had reached the final with a 36–5 victory over Poland.
Lachlan Kratz scored twice in Canada’s men’s final victory against Belgium, before Jack Shaw and Ethan Turner added second-half tries. Canada had survived a 24–19 semi-final against Hong Kong China, settled by Thomas Isherwood’s golden-point score. Czechia’s women and Samoa’s men finished third.
