South Africa ends India’s unbeaten T20 World Cup run
Miller’s recovery innings and Jansen’s four wickets delivered a 76-run Super Eight victory.

South Africa defeated India by 76 runs in Ahmedabad, ending the defending champion’s 12-match unbeaten run at the Men’s T20 World Cup. Both teams had entered the Super Eight contest unbeaten in the 2026 tournament, which repeated the 2024 final pairing.
David Miller and Dewald Brevis rebuilt South Africa’s innings after an early collapse to 20/3. Miller scored 63, Brevis 45 and Tristan Stubbs an unbeaten 44 as the side reached 187/7. Jasprit Bumrah returned 3/15 for India.
South Africa then dismissed India for 111 in 18.5 overs. Marco Jansen took 4/22, Corbin Bosch claimed two wickets and Keshav Maharaj three. Shivam Dube’s 42 was India’s principal contribution as the chase lost wickets regularly.
