Chinese Taipei beat Vietnam 1-0 in Perth to recover from their opening Women’s Asian Cup defeat. Su Yu-Hsuan scored the decisive first-half goal, putting the East Asian side back into contention for progression from Group C.

Chinese Taipei adopted a more attacking approach and pressed aggressively. A move down the left created a shooting opportunity for Saki Matsunaga, whose effort hit the crossbar before Su headed the rebound into the net from close range.

Vietnam introduced fresh players after the interval and tried to increase their attacking threat, while Chinese Taipei suffered injury-related substitutions. The defenders nonetheless protected the lead, leaving a final match against India to determine their prospects and Vietnam facing the more demanding task of beating Japan.
