Succo sets Italian under-18 best over senior-height hurdles
An 8.26 final in Bra moved the teenager close to Italy’s under-20 record.
Source publication date:
Alessia Succo opened her season with 8.26 in the 60-metre hurdles at Bra. FIDAL recognised the performance as an Italian under-18 best with senior-height hurdles of 84 centimetres, an important distinction from age-group hurdle specifications.
Succo improved from 8.32 in the heat to 8.26 in the final. The result placed her second on Italy’s under-20 all-time list, four hundredths behind Elisa Di Lazzaro’s junior record of 8.22.
The Atletica Settimese athlete had already earned European under-20 bronze and European Youth Olympic Festival gold in 2025. The new mark came as she built toward the July European Under-18 Championships on home soil in Rieti.
