Sundowns build a three-goal advantage over Stade Malien

Mamelodi Sundowns beat Stade Malien 3-0 in Pretoria to take control of their CAF Champions League quarter-final. The South African champions scored once before half-time and added two goals after the break, establishing a substantial lead before the return in Mali.
Khuliso Mudau opened the scoring with a close-range finish from Arthur Sales’s delivery, with VAR confirming the goal. Stade Malien attempted to respond after the interval, but goalkeeper Ronwen Williams dealt with their opportunities.
Brayan León doubled the advantage after a cross from Nuno Santos. Substitute Iqraam Rayners then finished another Santos-created chance, with the goal again confirmed following review. Sundowns retained their clean sheet, leaving Stade Malien needing a major improvement to reverse the tie.
