Maisuradze, Ozbas and Arbuzov take European judo gold
Tbilisi’s third day produced champions at 90kg, 70kg and 81kg.

Luka Maisuradze won the men’s 90kg European title in Tbilisi, with Nemanja Majdov taking silver. Majdov had eliminated Lasha Bekauri in the semi-final with an armbar. Bekauri subsequently lost his bronze-medal contest to Maxime-Gaël Ngayap Hambou.
Hungary’s Szofi Ozbas claimed the women’s 70kg crown against Melkia Auchecorne. The silver was Auchecorne’s first senior continental medal. Switzerland’s April Lynn Fohouo earned bronze by defeating Lara Cvjetko in the medal round.
Timur Arbuzov won the men’s 81kg final against Tato Grigalashvili, scoring at yuko, waza-ari and ippon levels. Zelim Tckaev and Mihajlo Simin took bronze in that category. The IJF published its account on 19 April, following the third day’s contests on 18 April.
