Tage Thompson and Clayton Keller became the first players to win gold at all four men's IIHF tournament levels, the federation reported in its March historical review. Both completed the sequence when the United States won the Olympic tournament in Milan.

Their matching records began with the 2015 under-18 championship and continued at the 2017 World Juniors. Both also helped the Americans win the 2025 senior World Championship, leaving Olympic gold as the final requirement before February's victory.

The IIHF counted 28 players who had collected medals at all four levels since the under-18 tournament entered the calendar in 1999. Those players came from five countries, but only Thompson and Keller had achieved a complete set of gold medals.
