The British artistic swimmer won solo technical gold and added mixed duet technical gold with Izzy Thorpe.
Source publication date:
Great Britain’s Ranjuo Tomblin won two titles on the first day of the Artistic Swimming World Cup Super Final in Toronto on 19 June. The 20-year-old secured his first Super Final victory in the men’s solo technical competition.
Tomblin scored 249.2033, ahead of China’s Guo Muye on 245.6576 and Kazakhstan’s Viktor Druzin on 235.4583. He then returned with Izzy Thorpe to win the mixed duet technical event, continuing a successful World Cup campaign for the British pair.
Italy’s Lucrezia Ruggiero and Filippo Pelati took mixed duet silver, while Chile’s Theodora Garrido and Nicolas Campos earned their first World Cup podium together with bronze. The two British victories were completed event results on the opening day, rather than a claim about every discipline at the Super Final.
