Uganda finalised its Chess Olympiad line-ups following the national championships, FIDE reported on 24 February. The selection competition ran over three weekends, with twelve players in each section playing eleven-round round-robins.

Nyola Wasswa Mark won the open title with 8.5 points, finishing a full point clear of the field. The championships served a selection purpose as well as awarding national titles, making the completed standings consequential for Uganda’s international team.

Four of the five selected women were under twenty, creating the country’s youngest women’s Olympiad team according to the official report. Suhana Yadav’s victory over Asaba Juliet featured in the selection contest.
